Models we service and repair
Victoria Arduino has been building in Belforte del Chienti, Italy, since 1905 — one of the oldest espresso machine brands there is, part of the same group as Nuova Simonelli since the early 2000s. While Nuova Simonelli serves the commercial mass market, Victoria Arduino is the premium lineup — machines for specialty cafés, specialty hotels, competition setups. Since 2014, VA388 Black Eagle has been the official machine of the World Barista Championship.
VA388 Black Eagle is the flagship. Volumetric or Gravimetric (with an integrated scale sensor under the group head), 2-group or 3-group, a distinctive design that makes a visual statement in any café setup. Black Eagle isn't cheap, neither in list price nor in service, but technically it's one of the best platforms on the market.
Eagle One is the newer platform with NEO Technology — energy-efficient pre-infusion through small chambers instead of a classic heat exchanger. 1-group, 2-group, 3-group, plus Eagle One Prima as a single-group for small setups. In daily café use it's noticeably more efficient on power than the Black Eagle, but more electronics-heavy in service.
Theresia is the compact premium machine for demanding home setups or small bars. Classic build, one group head, premium finish.
Mythos One, Mythos 2, and MYG75 are the professional grinders in the Victoria Arduino lineup. Mythos One as the standard platform, Mythos 2 as the premium variant with additional sensors, MYG75 as an on-demand grinder for high-frequency café setups.
Adonis is the vintage platform from the 2000s. Athena is the lever platform, rare in Berlin.
Typical problems and our fix
VA388 Black Eagle Gravimetric, dirty scale sensor. Classic issue on the gravimetric variant after 1-2 years of café use. Scale sensor under the group head accumulates residue, readings become inaccurate. Diagnosis: remove the cup tray mount, check the sensor, clean it, calibrate with a reference weight. Pre-infusion and brew profiles depend on scale accuracy — calibration is mandatory maintenance.
Eagle One, one group drifting in temperature. NEO Technology means each group has its own pre-infusion chamber and its own sensors. When one group shows temperature drift, it's usually the PT100 sensor in the NEO chamber. Sensor out, into citric acid, clean and back in, measure the values. If drift persists: replace. Eagle One service requires understanding the NEO platform — standard technicians without NEO experience often get thrown off by the different diagnostic logic.
VA388, pressure drop on one group head. Diagnostic sequence like on the Aurelia, but Black Eagle additionally has a pre-brewing solenoid valve per group. First check the OLAB solenoid valve, then the pre-brewing component, then the group head gasket, then the Procon rotary pump. Pump replacement while the café stays open takes 2-3 hours plus the part, usually done the same day.
Mythos grinder, uneven grind. Burrs at end of service life (800-1200 kg of beans). Replacement done in the workshop, new calibration, test grind with a defined bean. Mythos calibration is more precise than on standard grinders.
Adonis, water under the machine. Vintage issues: heat exchanger gasket or level solenoid valve. On very old Adonis units we also check the boiler for pitting — if it's through, we say so honestly upfront.
Genuine parts from Belforte — premium prices, transparent
We source Victoria Arduino spare parts through the authorized distributor in Germany and, in some cases, directly from the factory in Belforte. OLAB solenoid valves, Procon rotary pumps, heating elements, PT100 sensors, gravimetric sensors for Black Eagle, NEO Technology components for Eagle One, burrs for Mythos, premium group head gaskets — all genuine.
Fair warning: Victoria Arduino parts cost more than most other commercial brands. Black Eagle and Eagle One are premium platforms with premium components, and that shows in the prices. A gravimetric sensor for the Black Eagle isn't 50 euros, and a NEO heating cartridge for Eagle One is its own price bracket. Estimate always transparent upfront, no surprise on the invoice.
For Mythos burrs we stick strictly to genuine — third-party burrs change the grind profile and are a category violation in a Mythos.
WBC machine and premium maintenance
VA388 Black Eagle has been the official WBC machine since 2014. Factory standard claim: reliable, precise, well-serviceable worldwide. For our service: a platform we know deeply, premium standards in maintenance (no 30-minute quick service — a VA388 annual maintenance takes at least 3-4 hours), sensor calibration with calibrated equipment. If you own a Black Eagle, you've made a serious investment — we treat the machine accordingly.
Eagle One and NEO Technology — our specialty
NEO Technology is Victoria Arduino's answer to the energy question in the modern café. Instead of large heat exchangers per group head, small pre-infusion chambers bring the water to target temperature right before extraction. Consequence: up to 30 percent power savings compared to standard HX machines, but more sensor-intensive maintenance. Eagle One service: check the pre-infusion chamber per group for scale and sensor drift, check the PT100 sensors in the NEO chamber, calibrate pressure and temperature profiles per group, adjust maintenance intervals to water hardness. If you run an Eagle One without proper water treatment, you'll be repairing far more than necessary.
Emergency service for cafés — 24/7
Black Eagle, Eagle One, and Theresia sit in specialty cafés that can't just close for a day. We do 24/7 emergency service in Berlin and Brandenburg:
- Response in Berlin typically quick for emergency callouts
- Response in Brandenburg 4-6 hours depending on location
- We carry genuine Victoria Arduino parts in the van: solenoid valves, gasket kits, sensors, heating elements
- Standard faults repaired on the spot where possible
- Special cases diagnosed with a follow-up appointment once parts arrive
- Loaner machine depending on stock, for longer repairs
Callout flat rate plus hourly rate from 99 euros net, small weekend surcharge for emergency calls. Genuine parts billed separately, transparent in the estimate.
On-site or in the workshop
Black Eagle and Eagle One in a running café: on-site, always. Premium platforms are heavy, permanently installed, and every hour of downtime in a running café costs money.
Theresia: depends on where it's installed. For a home setup, pickup and workshop; for a café installation, on-site.
Mythos grinders: usually workshop for burr changes and calibration, on-site only for acute faults.
Adonis restoration: workshop appointment with pickup. Vintage restoration isn't done on-site in 90 minutes.
What we don't do
Custom firmware on Black Eagle or Eagle One. Victoria Arduino provides official firmware updates through the distributor. Third-party software voids the warranty and can disable safety circuits.
Aftermarket components in premium platforms. Black Eagle and Eagle One are WBC and premium machines. If you fit 30-euro parts from China in there, you're sabotaging the machine — we won't.
Full repaint of custom finishes. VA388 special editions or an Adonis with vintage paint — we handle cosmetic touch-ups, but a full repaint goes to specialized paint partners. We can refer you.
Repair of counterfeit machines. There are occasional China clones out there that look like a Black Eagle — bring us one of those and you'll get an honest assessment and no invoice.
