Models we service and repair
Quick Mill has been building machines in Senago near Milan since 1945. One of the oldest Italian espresso machine brands, it started with lever models in the La Pavoni tradition and today covers a broad range, from single-boiler entry machines to the dual-boiler prosumer flagship. In Berlin the brand is less common than ECM or Profitec, but highly regarded among connoisseurs — anyone who buys a Quick Mill knows what they're doing.
QM67 is the flagship. Dual boiler with E61 brew group, PID on both circuits, programmable pre-infusion, solid stainless steel construction. Compared head-to-head with the ECM Synchronika or Profitec Pro 700, the QM67 holds its own — a bit cheaper new, technically on par.
Andreja Premium is the heat-exchanger sibling. One boiler with HX for brew water, E61, classic build, no PID in the base version. More robust to service than the dual-boiler models, ideal for purists who want espresso without digital accompaniment.
Vetrano 2B Evo is a dual boiler with glass side panels and Gicar control. Visually distinctive, technically similar to the QM67 but on a different control platform. Servicing it requires an understanding of Gicar.
Carola is the single-boiler PID machine. An entry-level prosumer for home setups with manageable maintenance needs, one of the most accessible Quick Mill models.
Anita and Pippa are the lever models — spring-lever machines with classic espresso style and no pump-pressure logic. Anita as the full-size model, Pippa as a compact lever with its own distinct look. Maintenance is structured differently than for pump-driven machines.
Silvano Evo is the home espresso machine in single-boiler format with modern controls. Aquila is the larger dual-boiler variant for ambitious setups.
Common problems and how we fix them
QM67, pressure drop at the E61. The most common reason for a QM67 to come in after 3-5 years of use. First diagnostic step: brew group seals top (at the disperser) and bottom (standard 8.5 mm). If those have already been replaced, we look at the pump — Ulka EX5 running at reduced pressure after 5-7 years. Pump replacement in the workshop, followed by pressure adjustment on the gauge.
Andreja, water under the machine. A classic on older HX machines. Heat exchanger seal on the boiler, often combined with an overdue brew group seal. Disassemble, replace both seals, pressure test, done. About 90 minutes in the workshop.
Vetrano 2B, display shows an error. Gicar control is sensitive to its sensors. Diagnostic order: check the PID probe, check the level probe, check the connectors on the Gicar module, and only then the board itself. In 70 percent of cases it's scaled-up probes, not a board failure. Pull the probe, citric acid bath, put back clean, measure the values — the machine usually runs fine again after that.
Anita or Pippa, lever doesn't spring back cleanly. Spring pack worn out after 10+ years. Replacing the spring pack requires completely disassembling the lever unit, cleaning the bearing, relubricating, and new brew piston seals. Lever service is routine work for us — we keep spring packs for the common lever models in stock.
Carola, PID won't hold temperature. Check the heating element value with a resistance meter, check the PID probe, check the safety thermostat. If the PID probe keeps drifting it gets replaced; if the heating element is defective it's replaced in the workshop — the boiler has to come out.
Original parts from Senago
We source Quick Mill spare parts through the authorized distributor for Germany, and in some cases directly from the factory in Senago. Vibration pumps (Ulka EX5 or EP5 depending on the model), heating elements, solenoid valves, Gicar controls, PID probes, lever spring packs, brew piston seals for the lever models — all original.
For standard E61 parts (brew group seals, springs, cam plungers) we source from the general E61 universe. Quick Mill uses standard platform components for its E61 machines that have been standardized for 60 years and often come from the same Italian suppliers as ECM, Profitec, and Bezzera.
What we never do: aftermarket pumps or gray-market Gicar clones in a Vetrano 2B or QM67. Original or not at all.
Lever tradition — our specialty
Quick Mill is one of the few remaining brands with an active lever lineup. Anita and Pippa are still in the current range, and older models (early Anita generations from the 1990s, classic Quick Mill levers from the 1980s) show up regularly for vintage restoration.
Lever service is its own discipline:
- Spring pack replacement with torque values per factory spec
- Lever bearing disassembled, cleaned, relubricated with food-safe grease
- Brew piston seals in the correct thickness (model-specific)
- Pressure measurement on the lever pull with a calibrated gauge
- Pre-infusion adjustment (on lever machines, via pressure build-up speed)
We brought our lever experience over from working on La Pavoni machines, and Quick Mill is closely related on a platform level. If you have an Anita, Pippa, or an older Quick Mill lever model, you're in good hands with us.
On-site or workshop
Practically all Quick Mill machines are in home setups. Pickup is standard — we collect in Berlin or Brandenburg, work on it in the workshop in Oranienburg, and bring it back. The advantage: a pressure test rig, all the E61 specialty tools, and good lighting for taking apart lever mechanics or Gicar sensors.
We do on-site service for a clear diagnosis with limited scope — seal replacement or a solenoid valve swap can be handled on-site in 90 minutes. For lever spring pack replacement or Gicar diagnostics, it's a workshop appointment.
Pickup in Berlin is a flat rate by postal code, outside Berlin plus a per-kilometer surcharge. For workshop service with pickup and delivery, a combined flat rate, agreed upfront.
What we don't do
We don't flash custom firmware onto Gicar controls. Quick Mill delivers official updates through the distributor — that's enough. Third-party firmware voids the warranty and can disable safety circuits.
We don't install unofficial pressure-profiling mods in a QM67 or Vetrano 2B. If you want pressure profiling, look at machines built for it from the factory (Lelit Bianca V3, Slayer, La Marzocco GS3 MP).
We don't repair lever imitations from dubious sources. There are occasional China clones out there that look like an Anita or Pavoni — bring us one of those and you'll get an honest word, not an invoice.
Prices and flat rates
- QM67 / Vetrano 2B service: flat rate, standard E61 parts included
- Andreja Premium service: flat rate, somewhat lower due to less PID work
- Carola / Silvano service: small flat rate, single-boiler scope
- Lever service Anita / Pippa: by scope of work, spring pack replacement quoted in the estimate
- Ulka pump replacement: low three-digit range
- Gicar module replacement: flat rate plus original board
- Pickup Berlin / Brandenburg: flat rate by postal code
Hourly rate from 99 euros net, small weekend surcharge for emergency service. Exact figures depend on model and scope, quoted in the estimate.
We repair all portafilter machines
Quick Mill is one of the Italian prosumer brands we're glad to have on the bench and handle routinely — alongside ECM, Profitec, Bezzera, and Lelit. We repair all portafilter machines, the whole Quick Mill lineup included, lever models and all. Super-automatics and capsule machines are not our business.
Get in touch
Send us the model (QM67 / Andreja / Vetrano / Carola / Anita / Pippa / Silvano / Aquila), year of manufacture if you know it, and a short description of the symptom. A photo of the nameplate and a photo of the machine help enormously with an initial assessment. For lever models, please include a photo of the lever mechanism too.
